the process of natural dye from plants is a gift, straightforward and quite magical. Ratzer collects plants in the areas where she works; she is curious about what colors and shades the plants provide in order to expand her knowledge and vision of color.
currently, ratzer has a studio in the norwegian house at sophienholm, where she immerses herself in the pigments she can extract from the plants right there.
she uses plant dyeing in various projects and exhibitions. ratzer has conducted an online plant dyeing workshop for the trapholt art museum in connection with the citizen-involving art project close to trees, and taught plant dyeing as a house artist. during the fall break, she held a plant dyeing workshop at sophienholm.
